About

YouTube content creator, public speaker, activist and author famous for abandoning his lifestyle of drug trafficking to become an advocate for sobriety, improved prison conditions, and commitment to a law-abiding lifestyle. While incarcerated for drug charges, he started the first prison blog known as Jon's Jail Journal. Upon his release, he founded the first prison account on his self-titled YouTube channel, which boasts over 800,000 subscribers.

He grew interested in economics and trading stocks as a teen. He went on to graduate from Liverpool University in 1990, with a degree in business studies. While attending the university, he became involved in the rave scene. This eventually led him to sell and traffic ecstasy and other drugs from both Los Angeles and Europe to Arizona. He earned a reputation as a drug kingpin and became sought after not only by law enforcement but also by rivals in the drug-trading industry such as the Gambino crime family.

He has hosted TEDx Talks detailing his experiences as a prisoner and ex-con. He has also spoken at the University of St. Gallen about deriving happiness while waiting to be sentenced for up to 200 years in prison. Additionally, he has spoken about prisoner rights on BBC, Sky News, CNN and on television programs in over 40 international nations.

His mother is Barbara Attwood. He borrowed money from relatives in order to practice investing as a kid. He was romantically linked to partner Callie Meakin in 2013.

His YouTube channel discusses the conditions which prisoners face and often features individuals who have witnessed, committed, or been victims of true crime. On the channel, he has interviewed figures such as Richard Dawkins, Robbie Williams and Chris Hansen.
