Rose to fame as the wife of pastor and author Todd Burpo and the mother of their miraculous son, Colton. She and the rest of her family were brought to life in the book and subsequent film Heaven is for Real.
She was working as a children's minister when her son was misdiagnosed and had to have emergency surgery. The events would become the subject of Heaven is for Real.
After the success of Heaven is for Real, she contributed to the books Heaven is for Real for Kids and Heaven Changes Everything.
She and Todd have three children, Cassie, Colton, and Colby.
In the 2014 film adaptation of Heaven is for Real, she was portrayed by Kelly Reilly.
