Actor who rose to fame performing the role of blacksmith John Carter on Little House on the Prairie and the role of Daniel Scott on Days of Our Lives. He played Paul Raines on Highway to Heaven, Peter Gerber on Who's the Boss?, Tucker Reed on The Secrets of Lake Success, and Mark Johnson on Star Trek: Voyager. He has also guest-starred on countless programs including Married... with Children, Ally McBeal, Just Shoot Me!, and The Practice.
Prior to playing his career-making role on Little House on the Prairie, he made his inaugural screen acting appearance on the long-running soap opera General Hospital.
After filming for Little House on the Prairie had come to an end, he requested ownership of the main set piece. He disassembled the Little House and brought it to his Los Angeles ranch. Complications relating to the rights of the show hindered the display of the Little House; however, it was originally intended to be showcased at the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum in Walnut Grove, MN.
