Actress and model best known for her recurring role as Natalie Pierce on Switched at Birth. She also guest-starred in an episode of Grimm in 2013 which was the highest rate episode of the season. She is profoundly deaf and fluent in American Sign Language.
She graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology/National Technical Institute for the Deaf with a degree in liberal arts in 2011. She left home after graduation to head west to Los Angeles and was offered the role on Switched at Birth less than six months later.
She co-hosted The Toronto International Deaf Arts & Film Festival in 2015. As a philanthropist, she actively raises funds for a deaf school in Puerto Rico, serves the homeless at The Union Rescue Mission and My Friends LA, volunteers at Best Friends Animal Society and Dogs for The Deaf and is an annual #Spirit Day Celebrity Ambassador for GLAAD.
She was born in Camden, New Jersey and she grew up in Frederick, Maryland. She is of Puerto-Rican descent.
