Rock drummer and songwriter best known for being a founding member and drummer for the band Counting Crows. He joined the band for its tour with Rolling Stones and appearances on shows like Late Night with David Letterman and Saturday Night Live. After leaving the band in late 1994, he played with Third Eye Blind and artists like Penelope Houston. He formed a band called Luce in 1998 and their song "Good Day" was featured in movies like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and 13 Going on 30.
He was a founding member of Counting Crows and the band's drummer for the recording of their debut album, "August and Everything After." The album brought abundant yet unexpected success to the musical group, and he went on to be nominated for 2 Grammy Awards along with his co-founding members, and win an American Music Award.
