Although he also edited and/or contributed to science fiction fan magazines such as Zip, Stellar, and Yandro, this Writer is most famous for his science fiction novels, which include Invasion, Android Avenger, and the Qanar series.
During his teenage years, he began writing science fiction stories for fan magazines. A decade later, he won a "Best Fan Writer" Hugo Award.
He occasionally published under the pen names of "Norman Edwards" and "Ron Archer," and he hosted a late 1970s radio show using the stage name of "Dr. Progresso."
In his early twenties, he married Sylvia Dees White and relocated from his native Virginia to New York City. He later returned to the Washington, D.C. area.
He worked as a music critic as well as a science fiction Writer and, in the former capacity, interviewed the famous jazz flautist Eric Dolphy.
