At the 1984 Olympic Games, held in Los Angeles, California, she completed the 200-meter women's backstroke competition in just over two minutes and fifteen seconds, ultimately securing a fifth place finish.
Before becoming an Olympian, she was an NCAA championship-winning Swimmer for the University of Texas at Austin.
Her collegiate swimming and diving team was helmed by six-time Olympic coach Richard Quick.
She was born in Louisville, Kentucky.
