Singer, actress, and television personality who emerged in the 1980s as one of Serbia's most prominent folk musicians. She scored her first major hit with 1985's, "Nevera moja." In the year 2010, she participated in the reality show Survivor Srbija VIP: Philippines. In the year 2016, she was a contestant on the Serbian version of the Swedish reality TV series Farmen.
She dropped out of high school. The folk singers Saban Saulic and Esma Redzepova were formative influences on her when she was developing her singing style.
She published her autobiography (entitled, "Kad zamirišu jorgovani") in the year 2000. She shares photos and video clips of her live performances on her official Facebook page, which boasts more than 300,000 followers.
She was raised by her maternal grandmother. Her daughter Nikolija Jovanovic is also a singer and rapper.
