Urban planner who designed the Urania Cinema in Croatia. He originally embraced the secession style, but following World War I, he trended towards modernism, building the Apprentices' Dormitory in Osijek and the Workers' Insurance Office in 1923.
He graduated from the Technical University in Munich and later studied architecture in Vienna, where he came under the influence of the innovating urban Architects, Josef Hoffman, Otto Wagner, and Camillo Sitte.
He designed and constructed numerous, secession-style buildings in the city of Osijek.
His family was residing in Osijek when he was born; he lived and worked there for most of his life.
He and Frank Lloyd Wright were fellow moderninst Architects.
