American DJ, producer, and rapper known professionally as DJ Hurricane. He rose to fame for his work with the Beastie Boys. He released his debut solo album, The Hurra, in 1995.
He began to hone his rapping skills during his teens, while friends with noted DJ and producer Jam Master Jay.
His songwriting credits with the Beastie Boys include "Finger Lickin' Good," "Sure Shot," and "Three MCs and One DJ." He supported his first solo album by opening for the Beastie Boys on their 1995 tour. As well as the Beastie Boys, he has worked with such prominent stars as Talib Kweli and Kool G Rap. He became friends with the Beastie Boys while working as a bodyguard, and he eventually worked as their exclusive DJ for over a decade.
He was born in Dallas, Texas.
His 2000 album, Don't Sleep, featured guest appearances from Faith Evans, Scott Weiland, and Xzibit, among others.
