Prior in joining Miss Diva, Alakrita was crowned as Miss Noida 2009.
During the entire run of the competition, she was able to bag some awards such as best in evening gown, second place for Miss Photogenic award, and third place both for swimsuit and national costume rounds (designed by Melvyn Noronha). Alankirta was also awarded as one of the ten winners for the "Eco Beauty Video" category. However, she was not able to penetrate the top 16 semifinalists. At the conclusion of the pageant, Jamie Herrell of the Philippines was declared as Miss Earth 2014.
In 2018, Sahai made her acting debut with Anand Tiwari's romantic comedy Love per Square Foot.
