Journalist and documentary Producer who became of the most well-known Canadian journalists covering the 2003 occupation of Iraq and whose work resulted in the documentary Embedded In Baghdad. He has gone on to produce other socially-conscious documentaries including 2008's Refuge: A Film About Darfur and 2012's The New Great Game.
He studied at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf and earned a degree in Philosophy from McGill University in 1997. He produced his first documentary, Liberia: The Secret War, in 1998.
He offered to become a surety for Syrian refugee Hassan Almrei, who had been held in a Canadian jail for four years despite no charges being filed. Trudeau's efforts were chronicled in the documentary Secure Freedom.
His parents are former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and television show host Margaret Trudeau. He married Zoë Bedos, with whom he has children named Pierre-Emmanuel, Gala Simone and Ariane Lea.
His older brother, Justin Trudeau, was elected as the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada in 2015. His younger brother, Michel, was killed in a skiing accident at the age of 23.
