Her parents began dating in 1988 after meeting at the NAACP Image Awards. They would marry in 1993.

She has five sisters, Bria, Shayne, Izzy, Angel, and Zola, and three brothers, Eric, Miles, and Christian.
Her uncle, Charlie Murphy, is also an incredibly well known actor and Comedian.
