Most famous as the host of the Romanian Antena 3 network's In Gura Presei news-based talk show, Badea is well known for his biting political satire. He was the 2009 recipient of a Romanian Association for Television Programs Award.
Early in his career, he co-hosted a number of programs with fellow television personality Teo Tradafir which included: Buna Dimineata, Romania; Dimineata Devreme; and Teo si Mircea Sou.
An actor as well as a television personality, he appeared in the 1993 Romanian film Oglinda and in the early 2000s television series Pitici si Tatici.
A native of Bucharest, Romania, he studied computer science at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies. He had a long-term relationship with Carmen Bruma.
His harshly humorous political commentary was often aimed at Romanian President Traian Basescu.
