He played college basketball in the United States for the Kentucky Wildcats before making his professional debut in the NBL for the Sydney Kings in 2017.
After two seasons in the NBA G League and making his NBA debut for the Atlanta Hawks in 2019, Humphries joined the Adelaide 36ers in 2020. He played two seasons for the 36ers before joining Melbourne United for a season, and then re-joining the 36ers in 2023.
